Muzyka spod znaku Italo Disco narodziła się oczywiście we Włoszech, na przełomie lat siedemdziesiątych i osiemdziesiątych ubiegłego wieku. Wtedy to sukcesy odnosili tacy wykonawcy, jak: La Bionda, Mauro Malavasi, czy Peter Jacques Band. Pierwszymi wielkimi hitami Italo Disco były piosenki: "Dolce Vita" Ryana Parisa i "I Like Chopin" Gazebo z roku 1983. Do dziś to klasyka gatunku. W tym samym 1983 roku utworem " Don't Cry Tonight" zadebiutował późniejszy "król Italo Disco", czyli Savage. Naprawdę nazywa się Roberto Zannetti. Zaczynał pod koniec lat siedemdziesiątych w zespole Santarosa, w którym występował z Zucchero. W roku 1984 Savage wylansował swój największy hit "Only You". Do dziś piosenka jest grana w wielu stacjach radiowych i dyskotekach.

Po „Love at first Sting” zespół nie spieszył się z wydaniem kolejnej studyjnej płyty. Album, który ukazał się 5 lat po poprzedniku, zaskoczył fanów i krytyków muzycznych. Płyta różniła się od poprzednich krążków i pokazała, że Scorpions potrafią eksperymentować, a także stale się rozwijają. Aby uczcić 50-tą rocznicę powstania grupy Scorpions przygotowali wyjątkowe wydawnictwo - zremasterowany album „Savage Amusement” z 1988 roku. Płyta CD zawiera pełen album oraz 6 bonusowych, dotychczas niewydanych utworów. Na DVD znajdują się klipy i dokument „To Russia with Love and other Savage Amusements”. Scorpions byli pierwszym zachodnim zespołem, który odważył się pojechać do ZSRR. Wiosną 1988 roku grupa zagrała 10 wyprzedanych koncertów w Leningradzie (dziś Petersburg). „To Russia with Love and other Savage Amusements” dokumentuje tę podróż i pokazuje fascynujący świat, tak inny od tego co dotąd widzieli muzycy.
