W 1959 Cliff Richard po raz pierwszy koncertował z The Shadows. W 2009 roku dokładnie 50 lat później, wystąpili razem na koncercie po raz ostatni. Mimo upływu lat fantastycznie z imponującą werwą wykonują wiele swoich hitów, które osiągnęly szczyty list przebojów w tym między innymi : "Living Doll", It"s All In The Game", "Travellin" Light", "Bachelor Boy", "Wonderful Land", "Apache", "Summer Holiday", "The Young Ones", "Atlantis", F.B.I." i wiele innych. Skład zespołu występującego po raz ostatni wspólnie: Cliff Richard (vocal), Hank Marvin (guitar), Bruce Welch (guitar) and Brian Bennett (drums). Cliff Richard (wł. Harry Roger Webb ur.1940) był przez wiele lat najpopularniejszym piosenkarzem na wyspach brytyjskich. Po raz pierwszy wdrapał się na listy przebojów utworem "Move It" w 1958 roku. Potem aż 14 razy jego przeboje okupowały pierwsze miejsca list przebojów. Sprzedał ponad 250 milionów płyt. 25-tego pazdziernika 1995 roku otrzymał tytuł szlachecki. Grupa The Shadows zaś powstała we wrześniu 1959 roku pod nazwą The Drifters jako zespół akompaniujący Cliffowi Richardowi. Po spopularyzowaniu w USA hitu "Living Doll" w wykonaniu Cliffa Richarda zespół zmienił nazwę na The Shadows. Chodziło o uniknięcie konfliktu z zespołem o nazwie The Drifters działającym na rynku amerykańskim. Następnie po odejściu Richarda rozwijali swoją wspaniałą karierę w latach sześćiesiątych, grając z przerwami do dnia dzisiejszego.
