Album "Someone To Watch Over Me" to kulminacja trwających cały rok obchodów setnej rocznicy urodzin Elli Fitzgerald. Krążek wypełniony jest cyfrowo zremasterowanymi nagraniami partii wokalnych legendarnej artystki, której śpiew usłyszymy na tle nowych, znakomitych orkiestracji wykonanych przez wspaniałą London Symphony Orchestra. W standardzie "People Will Say We’re In Love" z broadwayowskiego musicalu Oklahoma do Elli dołącza uhonorowany nagrodą Grammy Gregory Porter. W powstanie albumu zaangażowali byli także: oscarowy aranżer Jorge Calandrelli, James Morgan oraz Juliette Pochin, która wyprodukowała płytę. Morgan i Calandrelli rozdzielili między siebie obowiązki dyrygenckie. Nagrań symfonicznych dokonano w słynnych londyńskich Abbey Road Studios. "Someone To Watch Over Me" przedstawia Ellę Fitzgerald u szczytu jej formy wokalnej. W repertuarze albumu znalazły się utwory nagrane w latach 1950-61. Wśród nich usłyszymy: "Misty", "Bewitched", "These Foolish Things (Remind Me Of You)", "I Get A Kick Out of You" z płyty "The Cole Porter Songbook" (pierwszy album Elli nagrany dla Verve [1956]), a także dwa duety z Louisem Armstrongiem - "Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off" i "They Can’t Take Away From Me".
