Stone Temple Pilots rozpoczynają nową, muzyczną przygodę z pierwszym akustycznym albumem "Perdida". Na płytę trafiło 10 osobistych piosenek, pełnych introspekcyjnych tekstów i zaskakujących aranżacji, które zabierają słuchacza w emocjonalną i dźwiękową podróż. "Perdida" to ósmy studyjny album Stone Temple Pilots. W nagraniu udział wzięli gitarzysta Dean DeLeo, basista Robert DeLeo, perkusista Eric Kretz oraz wokalista Jeff Gutt, który dołączył do zespołu w 2017 roku. Muzycy sami wyprodukowali materiał, a większość zarejestrowali w studiu Kretza - Bomb Shelter. Tytuł "Perdida" (z hiszpańskiego "strata") nadaje ton mrocznemu klimatowi dzieła. "Trzeba to przeżyć, by móc o tym napisać, a ta płyta odzwierciedla wszytsko, przez co ostatnio przechodziliśmy" - wyjaśnia Dean. "Fare Thee Well" to pierwszy singiel a zarazem piosenka otwierająca album, która zaczyna się akustyczną gitarą i słowami: "Fare thee well, so long/I hate to say goodbye to you". "Pisząc teksty musiałem się tak bardzo odsłonić, jak Dean i Robert podczas pracy nad muzyką" - mówił o emocjonalnej szczerości w słowach piosenek Gutt. Robert podkreśla, że "Perdida" to w równej mierze podróż muzyczna, co emocjonalna, a zawdzięczamy to brzmieniom takich instrumentów jak flet, saksofon altowy, vintage'owe klawisze, meksykańska gitara czy cytra. "Od zawsze byłem zafascynowany tym, jak różne instrumenty wydobywają z piosenki zaskakujące elementy" - opowiada Robert. "Współpraca z innymi muzykami była dla nas wielką przyjemnością, ponieważ mieliśmy okazję dowiedzieć się, jak inni słyszą nasze piosenki." W tym samym miejscu legenda zagrała po raz ostatni z Jerrym Garcią przed blisko 20 laty. Na scenie stanęło czterech oryginalnych nieboszczyków: Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh oraz Bob Weir.
