Każdy artysta ma taki czas, w którym wyjątkowo idzie mu karta, w którym muzy są niego szczególnie łaskawe. Dla Stanisława Soyki ów czas nastał w pierwszej połowie lat 90.. Okres ten artysta brawurowo otworzył albumem "Acoustic", zaś zamknął "Restrospekcja"…. Zamknął a raczej podsumował, dokonał właśnie retrospekcji. Dlatego piosenki starsze pojawiają się rzadko (choć jeśli już, swoje robią – jak "Czas nas uczy pogody"). Ale przecież – co podkreśla pełny tytuł płyty – słuchamy nie składanki, lecz koncertu. Koncertu, podczas którego udało się przydać piosenkom typowo scenicznego luzu, a zarazem dzięki bogatemu aparatowi wykonawczemu zachować subtelność oryginałów ze studia. Czy można się więc dziwić takiej owacji krakowskiej publiczności? A jakby tego wszystkiego było mało, Soyka lekką ręką dorzuca dwie wówczas premierowe piosenki studyjne (w tym kolejny przebój "Są na tym świecie rzeczy"). The Sixteen adds to its stunning Handel collection with a brand new recording of Dixit Dominus set alongside a little know treasure - Agostino Steffani’s Stabat Mater. Full of virtuosity, vibrant colour and dynamic energy, Handel’s Dixit Dominus captures absolutely the Italian style of the period. Handel’s control of forces is masterly and the range of texture and style is breathtaking. Written during the composer’s time in Italy in the early eighteenth century it is amongst his first autographed works and also one of his finest. By comparison Agostino Steffani’s little known Stabat Mater was one of his last compositions. Together with "Carus", under the direction of Hans-Christoph Rademann, the Dresdner Kammerchor will realize the first complete recording of the works of Heinrich Schuetz by 2017. The "12 geistliche Gesaenge" is Vol. 4 of this project. These works were published in 1657 for practical use in churches, schools and at home. While some of the pieces, such as the well known "Benedicite vor dem Essen" (All our eyes do wait, O Lord, upon thee) are still sung for practical use by many choirs, other pieces of the cycle are completely unknown. At present, this recording is the only one which presents the "12 geistliche Gesaenge" in a complete recording. The Dresdner Kammerchor and Hans-Christoph Rademann have focused attention on previously hidden aspects of Schuetz's works and have revealed valuable treasures. These motets are truly worth discovering and have earned a well deserved place in the concert halls, homes, and churches of today.
