Toots and The Maytals to jamajska grupa muzyczna wykonująca ska, rocksteady i reggae borąca praktycznie udział we wszystkich etapach rozwoju muzyki jamajskiej, działająca od roku 1962 do dzisiaj. Pod względem popularności i znaczenia dla rozwoju muzyki reggae ustępują tylko grupie The Wailers. Kilkakrotnie byli nominowani do nagrody "Grammy" a w 2004 roku zwyciężyli w kategorii Best Reggae Album za płytę "True Love". Liderem grupy jest Frederick "Toots" Hibbert uznany za jednego z pionierów reggae.12 lipca 2008 roku Toots and The Maytals wystąpili w Płocku na festiwalu Reggaeland. Już jako dziecko Carmen Cuesta śpiewała w kościelnym chórze, jednak profesjonalną karierę muzyczną rozpoczęła śpiewając w teatrach w rodzinnym Madrycie. Wkrótce też poznała Jose Martina, który namówił ją na dołączenie do grupy Somos. Zanim skończyła studia Carmen zaoferowano rolę Marii Magdaleny w "Godspell". 17-letnia wówczas piosenkarka bez wahania przyjęła propozycję, która była biletem w muzyczną podróż. Dzięki temu pojawiły się też kolejne projekty, do których Carmen zaprosili tacy muzycy jak Luis Eduardo Aute, Jose Mas, Miralles i Pedro Ruy Blas, który zaproponował jej śpiewanie jazzu. Wokalistka zagrała także w filmie "Retrato de Familia". Punktem zwrotnym w życiu zawodowym i prywatnym Carmen było spotkanie w Madrycie z jazzowym gitarzystą Chuckiem Loebem, który nie tylko zaproponował jej muzyczną współpracę, ale w trzy miesiące później został jej mężem (drużbą pana młodego był Stan Getz). Po przeprowadzce do Nowego Jorku Carmen zaczęła występować z takimi artystami jak: Michael Franks, Gato Barbieri, Peabo Bryson, Earl Klugh, Jim Hall Grover Washington Jr, Till Brönner i Fessler.Na "Peace of Mind" usłyszymy m.on. Billa Evansa na saksofonie sopranowym, Toots Thielemans na harmonijce ustnej, trębacza Tilla Brönnera, pianistę Boba Jamesaczy jazzowego drummera Vinnie'ego Colaiuta'ę.
