Rock and roll powstał w USA w połowie lat pięćdziesiątych XX wieku, a jego prekursorami byli Elvis Presley, Bo Diddley, Ritchie Valens, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly i Eddie Cochran. We wczesnych latach sześćdziesiątych zaczął zdobywać sobie popularność w Europie. Do najwybitniejszych brytyjskich grup rockandrollowych należały: The Beatles, Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, The Dave Clark Five, The Searchers i The Animals.
Pochodzący z Norwegii band Gazpacho został założony w 1996 roku. Muzycy to przedstawiciele rocka przełamanego muzyką ambient oraz muzyką ludową a nieraz i neo-progresywną. Artyści to przedstawiciele przede wszystkim art rocka, ale także: rocka progresywnego, alternatywnego rocka i neo-prog.

Chvrches, czyli Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook i Martin Doherty, rozpoczęli światową karierę w 2013 za sprawą albumu "The Bones of What You Believe". Płyta trafiła na podsumowania roczne m.in. Pitchforka, "The Rolling Stone", "Billboard" i Stereogum. W 2015 ukazał się drugi album trio z Glasgow, "Every Open Eye". Bezwstydnie dobry, bez półśrodków – można było przeczytać w recenzji NPR. Zespół był jedną z gwiazd Open'er Festival 2016. Po dwuletniej przerwie zespół zaprezentował "Get Out" – pierwszy singiel zwiastujący albumu "Love Is Dead".
