Podobnie jak poprzednik, "Photo Finish", "Top Priority" to powrót artysty do hard rocka. Folkowe i akustyczne brzmienia znane z "Calling Card" ustąpiły miejsca mocnemu bluesowi. Trzy lata po dość kontrowersyjnym "Renewal" wielka legenda thrash metalu, niemiecka grupa Kreator powróciła z kolejną dość eksperymentalną płytą, kolejną nagraną w USA. "Cause For Conflict" ukazał się w 1995 roku, a teraz pojawia się w wersji zremasterowanej i wzbogaconej. Choć na tej płycie wciąż nie brakowało indostrialnych śladów, Kreator zawarł na niej również sporo materiału, który przypadł do gustu bardziej ortodoksyjnym fanom. "Cause For Conflict" to jedyny album zespołu, na którym nie zagrał Ventor i pierwszy z Christianem Gislerem na basie, który jest w grupie do dziś. Niestety, to jednocześnie ostatnia płyta, jaką kapela nagrała z Frankiem Blackfire'em. Na wznowieniu do pierwotnej tracklisty dodane zostały trzy piosenki.
