Czy możliwe jest muzyczne połączenie post punkowych dźwięków i death metalowego ekstremum?  Ropień udowadnia że tak! Album „Początek końca świata” zawiera 15 krótkich utworów, łączących punkową prostotę z ciężarem metalu i ponurym klimatem nowej fali. Pełne czarnego humoru teksty niejednokrotnie odwołują się do klasyki horroru, nie uciekając jednak całkowicie od poważniejszych wątków. To niespełna pół godziny muzyki, która łączy pozornie nie pasujące do siebie światy, w połowie drogi pomiędzy złym snem a szarą rzeczywistością. ropień powstał w 2013 roku z zamiarem grania muzyki z pogranicza punka i wczesnego death metalu. pierwsze nagrania demo („skamieniałe zło”, 2014) prezentują twórczość mocno zainspirowaną Celtic Frost, Slaughter (Can), Ramones i Misfits, z tekstami obracającymi się w tematyce groteski i horroru. Z czasem w twórczości zespołu do głosu dochodzą wpływy post punka, nowej fali i muzyki pop-rockowej z lat 80, co można usłyszeć na kolejnym studyjnym demo („Kły”, 2016). Po jego nagraniu dochodzi do sporych zmian w składzie, po których zespół decyduje się nagrać swoją debiutancką płytę, „Początek końca świata” (2017).
