To historyczne nagranie. Dwóch saksofonistów - George Garzone (urodził się w Bostonie, w 1950 roku) i Jerry Bergonzi (urodził się również w Bostonie, ale w roku 1947), toczy "bitwę", aby zobaczyć, kto jest najbardziej wpływowym, wciąż aktywnym, saksofonistą z ich pokolenia. W dodatku to jest pierwszy raz, kiedy możemy usłyszeć ich obu razem w studyjnej sesji.Pomiędzy bohaterami jest wiele podobieństw: obaj są nauczycielami - w Berklee School of Music. Każdy z nich uczył jakiegoś ważnego instrumentalistę młodego pokolenia - Joshua Redman, Mark Turner, Donny McCaslin czy nawet Ken Vandermark - to tylko niektórzy z nich. Ale co najważniejsze, obaj są przykładami bezkompromisowych artystów i propagatorów muzyki powstającej pod wpływem ekspresjonistycznych dokonań Johna Coltrane'a. George Garzone od czterdziestu lat fascynuje się improwizacjach Coltrane'a - zwłaszcza tymi w końcego okresu jego życia.Jerry Bergonzi po raz pierwszy dostrzeżony został w zespołach Dave'a Brubecka w latach siedemdziesiątych ubiegłego wieku (współpracował z pianistą całą dekadę). Teraz tych dwóch gigantów jazzu w końcu staje na jednej scenie, a rozdzielają ich: duński pianista Carl Winther, basista Johnny Aman, i perkusista Anders Mogensem. I chociaż materiał przygotowali Bergonzi i Garzone, to decydujące scenie zdaje się należeć to Winthera.Efektem jest znakomity album ukazujący piękną, klasyczną ale i energetyczną, czasami wręcz agresywną stronę klasycznego - jednak - jazzu.
