"We Are On The Edge: A 50th Anniversary Celebration" to upamiętnienie półwiecza The Art Ensemble of Chicago, od powstania w 1969 roku - lidera kreatywnej muzyki improwizowanej. Album, prowadzony teraz przez Roscoe Mitchella i perkusistę Famoudou Don Moye, jest również hołdem dla trzech oryginalnych nieżyjących już członków zespołu; Lestera Bowie, Malachi Favours'a i, zmarłego w 2019 roku, Josepha Jarmana.
