Zacznę nieco górnolotnie, ale naprawdę tak uważam. Polska piosenka to polska kultura. Wiem, że niektórzy nie zgodzą się ze mną. Powiedzą: piosenka to twór ulotny, szybko przemija, nie może równać  się z teatrem, literaturą, filmem. A jednak… kiedy staje się przebojem, jej audytorium może być ogromne, o wiele większe niż wielkich literackich bestsellerów, sztuk teatralnych czy dzieł filmowych. Piosenka ma w sobie wielką moc. Czasami nawet  nie musi mieć fantastycznego tekstu i super melodii, wystarczy, że jest zapisem chwili, wiarygodnym dokumentem epoki, w której powstała. Choć oczywiście najlepiej, żeby była jednocześnie  i dokumentem i dziełem artystycznym. To się zdarza i wcale nie tak rzadko. W naszym cyklu mamy wiele takich  piosenek. Dobre, bo polskie. Więcej powiem: najlepsze, bo polskie. Wiem, znowu  pomyślicie sobie, że przesadzam. Przecież tyle jest na świecie świetnych piosenek, znakomitych tekstów, wspaniałych melodii, gwiazd większych niż nasze. To prawda. Ale czy jakiś amerykański, angielski czy francuski przebój potrafi Was wzruszyć tak, jak „Pokolenie” Kombii czy „Wymyśliłam cię” Jarockiej… Albo rozśmieszyć i jednocześnie zmusić do zastanowienia tak, jak hity Skiby i Big Cyca? Albo przypomnieć ciemne czasy komuny, z którą słowami i muzyką walczyli: Kazik z Kultem czy Tomek Lipiński z Tiltem? A przeboje Izabeli Trojanowskiej, SBB czy Róż Europy nie przywołują fantastycznych wspomnień? To jest właśnie moc  naszej piosenki!  Najlepszej, bo polskiej. Miłego słuchania! Jako dziecko marzył o „stadionach wypełnionych ludźmi śpiewającymi jego piosenki”. Ojciec, który był perkusistą jazzowym, chciał, żeby syn został saksofonistą. Jednak Jacek zbuntował się już w wieku lat 13 i zamiast na saksofonie, zaczął  uczyć się gry na gitarze. Grał w kilku kapelach, był wokalistą Eve Boys. Trafił do radia w Pszczynie, gdzie zaczął pracować jak DJ, używając pseudonimu Stachursky  ( naprawdę nazywa się Jacek Łaszczok ) i tam ktoś zasugerował mu, żeby spróbował nagrać proste piosenki do tańca. Sukces był nieprawdopodobny i zaskakujący,  tak zaczęła się jedna z największych karier przełomu lat 90. i dwutysięcznych. To był jego złoty czas. Debiutował piosenką i płytą „Taki jestem”, potem przyszły następne. Kolejne płyty, które starał się wydawać mniej więcej co roku, stawały się złote, platynowe albo multiplatynowe. Królował na listach przebojów. Były to czasy wielkiego piractwa, więc żeby sprostać konkurencji piratów, w 2001 roku sam obniżył ceny swoich legalnych płyt. W sumie sprzedał ich prawie milion. Starał się i stara, żeby brzmiały światowo. Nagrywa jednocześnie w kilku krajach, angażuje producentów amerykańskich, niemieckich, włoskich. Krytycy dyskutują, czy jego muzyka to pop czy dance, dla publiczności nie ma to najmniejszego znaczenia.
