This wonderful young Polish ensemble continue their exploration of the string quartet repertoire of their homeland with this album of music by two giants of the twentieth century. Witold Lutosławski, whose centenary is celebrated in 2013, wrote his one and only string quartet in 1964 and it has since maintained an eminent position in the international repertoire. Krzysztof Penderecki (born 1933) was the most talkedabout Polish composer in the early 1960s and remains an important presence in contemporary music. His three string quartets (1960, 1968 and 2008) are key works in the history of the post-war Polish quartet.

Przełomowy w karierze Vana Morrisona trzeci solowy album studyjny Irlandczyka, teraz wznowiony w wersji zremasterowanej z oryginalnych taśm. "Moondance" ukazał się w 1970 roku. Van Morrison nagrywał piosenki w Nowym Jorku. Powstała przepiękna mieszanka popu, rocka, folku, country, soulu i jazzu, która zachwyciła świat. Warto dodać, że nad procesem remasteringu czuwał Elliot Scheiner, czyli inżynier dźwięku w nowojorskim studiu A&R Studios, gdzie odbywała się sesja nagraniowa "Moondance".

Album "I Wanna Play For You" jest mieszanką nagrań na żywo i nagrań studyjnych. Tytułowa piosenka zaczyna się jako klasyczny wampirzycowy bas Stanleya Clarke i przechodzi w hard piano (George Duke) i kobiecy chóralny wokal (DeeDee Bridgewater). "The Streets Of Philadelphia" opowiada, że Clarke śpiewa w swoim rodzinnym mieście z udziałem Lee Ritenoura na gitarze i Stana Getza na saksofonie tenorowym. Krótkie "Blues for Mingus" to cierpkie pozdrowienie od jednego basisty do drugiego (Mingus zmarł około 6 miesięcy przed wydaniem tego albumu). "Jamaican Boy" to odbijająca się melodyjna mieszanka jazzu / funku z mocnym karaibskim reggae / calypso z udziałem Jeffa Becka na gitarze. Po tym jak porzucił kierunek literatury angielskiej na Londyńskim Reading University próbował swoich sił w filmie ("...Jednym z najważniejszych powodów mojej jazzowej pasji była fascynacja filmami Woody'ego Allena, to on sprawił, że sam zająłem się filmem, literaturą, sztuką...
