For its 40th birthday, Musique en Wallonie begins a long and rich journey around Roland de Lassus (Mons, 1531 – Munich, 1594). In five years, five discs recorded by five European ensembles will draw a musical biography of the famous composer through unreleased works. Volume I of this anthology includes pieces dating from the 1550s, period of travelling – Naples, Rome, England, Netherlands – and the growth of Lassus’ fame. Madrigals, motets, chansons and villanelles this CD consists in are constantly impregnated by various madrigalisms, an expressive device consisting of transposing into music the notions (material, intellectual or emotional) suggested by the text.

Gustavo Dudamel i założona przez niego Simón Bolivar Orchestra połączyli swe siły w wykonaniu jednego z największych arcydzieł muzyki symfonicznej – III Symfonii „Eroica” Ludwiga van Beethovena.Album zawiera również dwie uwertury Beethovena, Egmont, inspirowany dramatem Goethego, oraz Twory Prometeusza.Simón Bolivar Orchestra, która w zamyśle miała być orkiestrą młodzieżową skupiającą wykonawców pochodzących z najbardziej zagrożonych biedą i przestępczością środowisk Wenezueli to dziś światowej klasy zespół koncertujący po całym świecie, pełniący w ten sposób rolę swoistego ambasadora swego kraju, a także ucieleśniony sukces programu resocjalizacyjnego „El Sistema”.Połączenie przystępnego, ciekawego repertuaru, niebywałej charyzmy Dudamela oraz interesującej historii zespołu Simón Bolivar Orchestra czyni z najnowszego nagrania nie tylko wydarzenie długo oczekiwane przez fanów tego wenezuelskiego dyrygenta czy miłośników muzyki Beethovena, lecz także tych, którzy pragną odkrywać piękno i moc muzyki klasycznej w jej najlepszych wykonaniach.Fetowany w ojczyźnie jak gwiazda rocka Gustavo Dudamel zdobył ostatnio nagrodę Grammy za najlepsze nagranie z muzyką orkiestrową (2011). Cykl wszystkich symfonii Mahlera pod jego dyrekcją wykonany w Los Angeles i Caracas komentowany był na pierwszej stronie „The New York Timesa”, a wykonanie VIII Symfonii transmitowane było w setkach kin na całym świecie. Gustavo Dudamel zadebiutował też w grudniu podczas prestiżowych koncertów Wiedeńskich Filharmoników, a wiosną tego roku zabrał w tournee filharmoników z Berlina.
Since its founding in 1998, Private Musicke, under the direction of Pierre Pitzl, has appeared at various European early music festivals (Resonanzen Wien, Lucerne Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Festwochen Innsbruck, Helsinki Festival, London Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam Concertgebow, Berlin Kammerphilharmonie a.o.). Several CDs for the ACCENT have been released; they have been distinguished with critical acclaim and international prizes. The CD “Lettere amorose”, released in 2010 with the soprano Magdalena Kožená by Deutsche Grammophon, was awarded with the Diapason d’Or.The guitar is an instrument especially inviting for improvisation. This goes for the 17th century as well as nowadays. Many of the pieces on this CD are written like sketches asking for further development. Private Musicke took up those stimulating suggestions and turned them into a program providing a colourful and diverse image of the Italian art of guitar music in the 17th century.
