Ta muzyczna podróż wzięła swój tytuł z Bizzarie universali Williama Corbetta, zestawu koncertów, które w rzeczywistości zawdzięczają znacznie więcej włoskiej tradycji niż półwyspowi iberyjskiemu. W epoce oświecenia muzyka portugalska dzieliła łaski niektórych wydawców angielskich z hiszpańskim sąsiadem; pijąc u niewyczerpanego źródła sonat Scarlattiego, Charles Avison stworzył wystawne koncerty, które brzmią niezwykle podobnie jak ich współczesne odpowiedniki napisane w Coimbrze przez Seixas. Ta ciągła wymiana między iberyjską muzyką kameralną i osiemnastowieczną orkiestrą kończy się orkiestrową aranżacją słynnej „Musica Notturna” Boccheriniego, zaprezentowaną przez Andreasa Staiera przy całkowitym współudziale barokowej orkiestry z Casa da Música de Porto.
