Pennebakera.Płyta po raz pierwszy ukazała się do dopiero w 1983 roku, chociaż zawiera materiał zarejestrowany w londyńskiej Hammersmith Odeon 3 lipca 1973 roku. Do czasu oficjalnej premiery funkcjonowała w obiegu jako bootleg. Dopiero w 1981 roku Bowie i Tony Visconti zabrali się za nadanie nagraniom jakości odpowiedniej do wydania. Koncert londyński był pamiętny, ponieważ był pożegnaniem Davida z alter ego, czyli Ziggym Stardustem.

Przez swoje badania muzyki ludowej i analizy z tego zakresy został jednym z najwybitniejszych prekursorów etnografii muzycznej.  Pochodzący z Rosji wybitny kompozytor Igor Fiodorowicz Strawinski, urodzony w 1882 roku w Oranienbaumie, zmarła w 1971 roku w Nowym Jorku. Prócz komponowaniem, był wirtuozem pianina, oraz trudnił się dyrygenturą. Komponował on muzykę poważną. Pochodzący z Francji wybitny kompozytor Achille-Claude Debussy, urodzony w 1862 roku w Saint-Germain-en-Laye, zmarł w 1918 roku w Paryżu. Artysta był czołowym przedstawicielem impresjonizmu muzycznego. Jego muzyka była wyjątkowa i rozpoznawalna, chociażby dlatego że było słychać w niej wpływy orientalnych kultur, przepełnionych żywą kolorystyką, posiadała ona gęstą fakturę, oraz posiadała niekonwencjonalne skale muzyczne. Album został wydany przez wytwórnię Chandos (CHAN 10863).
