Powstał w nowojorskiej dzielnicy Queens (Forest Hills) w 1974. Wszyscy jego członkowie nosili pseudonim artystyczny Ramone (w żaden sposób nie byli ze sobą spokrewnieni). W ciągu 22 lat zagrali 2263 koncerty – ostatni w 1996 po festiwalu Lollapalooza. Na przestrzeni pierwszej połowy ostatniej dekady trzech założycieli zespołu zmarło: wokalista Joey Ramone, gitarzysta Johnny Ramone oraz basista Dee Dee Ramone. Okładkę płyty stworzył Wes Benscoter (Bloodbath, Kreator, Slayer, Hypocrisy etc.). Jako, że gitarzysta Broken Hope Jeremy Wagner został właścicielem kolekcji gitar Jeffa Hannemana (Slayer), część z nich wykorzystana została w nagraniu materiału.
