Tego zespołu przedstawiać nikomu nie trzeba. "Cryptoriana" to już dwunasty krążek w dyskografii angielskich dark-black metalowców, dowodzonych przez niestrudzonego Dani Filtha. Po raz kolejny zespół odwołuje się do inspiracji starymi, wiktoriańskimi opowieściami grozy, a na albumie nie zabrakło charakterystycznych dla muzyki COF elementów. Niespodzianką jest cover kanadyskich mistrzów thrash metalu, Annihilator, "Alison Hell". Już dziś mówi się, że "Cryptoriana" to najmocniejszy materiał Filtha i jego ekipy. Tracklista: 1. Niech litery EP nie zniechęcają. „Exquisite Force" damskiego kwartetu z Los Angeles (2009 ) to jeden z ciekawszych debiutów ostatnich lat, pod którym jako mikser podpisał się sam John Frusciante z Red Hot Chili Peppers.Wzbogacona o jamową kompozycję „Krimson" (w reedycji Manimal Vinyl) EP-ka stała się sporą sensacją na rynku amerykańskiego indie-rocka. Ktoś nawet stwierdził, że jest to muzyka idealna na bezsenne noce. Cztery panie z Los Angeles znalazły idealną recepturę, by połączyć nowofalowe rytmy z poetykami psychodelii i shoegazingu i stworzyć muzykę, która zarazem jest mroczna i bardzo seksowna; melodyjna i atmosferyczna. Zespół założony został przez siostry Jenny Lee Lindberg (bas) i Shannyn Sossamon (dr) oraz Emily Kokal i Theresę Wayman (gitary i śpiew). Shannyn musiała odejść, nie mogąc połączyć swych ambicji muzycznych i aktorskich. Zastąpiła ją z czasem Stella Mozgawa. Wydana własnym sumptem EP-ka „Exquisite Force" zajęła na początku 2009 r. pierwsze miejsce na cenionej liście Amoeba Records dla talentów z Zachodniego Wybrzeża. O Warpaint świat usłyszał pół roku później, właśnie za sprawą reedycji Manimal Vinyl na CD i winylu, która za pośrednictwem Rough Trade trafia na polski rynek. Warto sięgnąć po ten bardziej mini-album niż nominalną EP-kę. Nawet jeśli ma się już za sobą wysłuchanie wydanego jesienią ub.r. chronologicznie późniejszego pierwszego albumu Warpaint - "The Fool".

The young violinist Alina Ibragimova is already established as an admired recording artist, standing alongside great artists of the past and present with her versions of Bach and Beethoven’s violin works. She appears on this latest release with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Vladimir Jurowski (in his Hyperion premiere) in a programme which includes a classic of the concerto repertoire: Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, Op 64. Ibragimova’s is a glittering, knife-edge performance, her playing a portrayal in itself of the music’s passion held in control through exquisite craft. The Violin Concerto in D minor—an unusual and welcome pairing—is an early work, written when the composer was only thirteen. As with Mendelssohn’s other juvenile works it is extraordinarily accomplished and exceedingly charming.
