W pierwszych dniach  marca ukaże się nowy album formacji Marcin Wasilewski Trio nagrany dla prestiżowej niemieckiej wytwórni ECM. Płyta zatytułowana „Faithful” została nagrana w sierpniu ubiegłego roku w Lugano pod czujnym okiem Manfreda Eichera jako producenta. Oprócz utworów autorstwa lidera, na krążku znalazły się kompozycje Hermeto Pascoala, Hanssa Eislera oraz Paula Bleya. Tytułową „Faithful” trio zaczerpnęło z albumu Ornette Colemana „The Empty Foxhole” z 1966.Marcin Wasilewski Trio to jedna z najwybitniejszych formacji jazzowych swojego pokolenia. Jej skład tworzą, obok lidera Marcina Wasilewskiego, kontrabasista Sławomir Kurkiewicz i grający na perkusji Michał Miśkiewicz. Trio powstało w połowie lat 90-tych i początkowo działało pod nazwą Simple Acoustic Trio. Na początku następnej dekady muzycy nawiązali współpracę z Tomaszem Stańko, tworząc jego regularny kwartet. W 2005 roku wydali swój pierwszy album dla wytwórni ECM, zatytułowany po prostu „Trio”. Z czasem zespół zgodnie z tradycją większości fortepianowych trio w historii jazzu, przyjął nazwę od nazwiska lidera „Marcin Wasilewski Trio” i pod takim właśnie szyldem w 2008 roku ukazał się znakomicie przyjęty krążek zatytułowany „January” drugi album dla ECM.Oprócz współpracy z Tomaszem Stańką zespół był zapraszany do udziału w wielu międzynarodowych projektach występując u boku takich gwiazd światowego jazzu jak Dino Saluzzi, Palle Danielsson, Jon Christensen, Arild Andersen, Dhafer Youssef, Joe Lovano, John Surman, Jan Garbarek, czy Bobo Stenson. Muzycy tria współpracowali także m.in. z Michałem Urbaniakiem, Tomaszem Szukalski, Leszkiem Możdżerem i Henrykiem Miśkiewiczem.Formacja otrzymała wiele nagród, wśród nich m.in.: Fryderyk 2002 za album kwartetu Tomasza Stańko "Soul of Things", Fryderyk 2005 za album "Trio", Fryderyk 2009 za album "January". Fryderyk 2009 w kategorii Jazzowy Muzyk Roku dla Marcina Wasilewskiego. W plebiscycie Jazz Forum Jazz Top 2010 trio Marcina Wasilewskiego wybrano najlepszym zespołem akustycznym.Wydaniu albumu „Faithful” towarzyszyć będzie trasa koncertowa w Polsce.
