Wyjątkowa płyta koncertowa! Whitesnake gra Deep Purple na żywo! Kilkanaście miesięcy temu legenda hard rocka, grupa Whitesnake wyruszyła na tournée. Trasa była wyjątkowa, ponieważ zespół wykonywał w jej trakcie wyłącznie piosenki... Deep Purple. Z czasów, kiedy wokalistą był w tej grupie David Coverdale. Pokłosiem szczególnej podróży jest płyta koncertowa oraz DVD. Materiał otrzymał wiele mówiący tytuł "The Purple Tour (LIVE)". Płyta powstała w rezultacie wydania interpretacji purplowskich klasyków przez Whitesnake w postaci albumu "The Purple Album" z 2015 roku i promującego go tournée. Znalazły się na nim nowe wersje, chociażby takich evergreenów jak "Burn" czy "Mistreated". "The Purple Tour (LIVE)" ukazuje się jako CD/DVD, CD/Blu-ray, podwójne LP, pojedyncze CD. Jeśli chodzi o smaczki, jest nim, chociażby wcześniej niepublikowany wcześniej wideoklip do "Burn". Utwory podczas trasy promującej "The Purple Tour (LIVE)" wykonywali: David Coverdale (śpiew), Reb Beach i Joel Hoekstra (gitary), Michael Devin (gitara basowa), Tommy Aldridge (perkusja), Michele Luppi (klawisze). Co ciekawe, David Coverdale wcale nie zamierzał dokumentować trasy wydawnictwem. "Chcieliśmy tylko zagrać te cholerne piosenki. Każdy z nas dodał do nich coś od siebie. Zrobiliśmy to najlepiej, jak umieliśmy" – mówi legendarny wokalista.
