Miles Dewey Davis III (ur. 26 maja 1926 w Alton, zm. 28 września 1991 w Santa Monica) – amerykański trębacz, lider grup jazzowych i kompozytor, uznawany za jednego z najbardziej znaczących i innowacyjnych muzyków XX wieku. Słynął z ospałego, melodycznego stylu i lakonicznej, czasem konfrontacyjnej osobowości. Był symbolem potencjału komercyjnego muzyki jazzowej.Stał na czele niemal każdego istotnego etapu rozwoju jazzu od czasów II wojny światowej po lata 90. Pojawił się na wielu spośród ważnych nagrań bebopowych, był prekursorem jazz-rocka i nagrał pierwszy cool jazzowy album. Był jedną z osób odpowiedzialnych za rozwój jazzu modalnego, a jazz fusion powstało w wyniku jego współpracy z innymi muzykami w późnych latach 60. i wczesnych 70. Free jazz był jedynym powojennym stylem, na który Davis nie miał znaczącego wpływu, jednakże był później uprawiany przez niektórych muzyków występujących w zespołach Davisa. Nagrania, razem z dorobkiem koncertowym jego licznych grup, odegrały kluczową rolę w procesie akceptacji jazzu jako gatunku muzycznego o trwałej wartości.
