Studyjny album prawdziwej legendy, formacji New Model Army. Krążek zatytułowany „From Here” będzie zawierał dwanaście nowych kompozycji. Płyta została nagrana na początku 2019 roku na malutkiej, norweskiej wyspie Giske, na której mieści się niesamowite studio Ocean Sound Recordings. Album odzwierciedla spektakularną izolację tego środowiska, ale ma też głębokie przesłanie dla świata, w którym wszyscy żyjemy i czasów, których doświadczamy. Zespół opowiada: „Każdy z nas ma inne życie i inny gust niemal w każdej kwestii, również w muzyce. Jedyne, co nas łączy, to miłość do ponurych, otwartych, zimnych, surowych krajobrazów - wody, śniegu, skał. To było idealne miejsce dla nas, aby wspólnie pracować nad płytą - przez cały czas pracy mogliśmy patrzeć w niebo, morze i topniejący śnieg w górach, wszystko to cały czas się zmieniało. Zasadne jest wrażenie, że ta płyta jest inna od poprzednich, ale też wciąż zawiera wszystkie elementy, które charakteryzują naszą szczególnie niezidentyfikowaną muzykę - być może nawet bardziej niż kiedykolwiek. If the name Friedrich Kalkbrenner is familiar at all, it’s probably for his famous suggestion that Chopin would benefit from three years of study with him (a bold offer the Pole wisely turned down). But, as Hyperion’s ever-expanding Romantic Piano Concerto series has repeatedly shown, received historical opinion and musical quality don’t always go hand in hand. With Volume 56 we reach the second and final instalment of Kalkbrenner’s concertos, dazzlingly played by Howard Shelley, directing the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra from the keyboard. For all that Kalkbrenner wasn’t afraid to write big, bold orchestral introductions, it’s when the pianist makes his entry that you realize what a jawdropping player he must have been, with writing of such glittering, glistening panache that it must have had those polite salon ladies reaching for their smelling salts.
