Pochodzący z Rosji kompozytor Modest Pietrowicz Musorgski urodzony w 1839 roku w Karewie, zmarł 1881 w Sankt Petersburgu. Instrumentem artysty był fortepian, Modest porzucił karierę oficerską na rzecz muzyki, dlatego też nigdy nie uzyskał żadnego wykształcenia muzycznego.
