Green Day przedstawia największe przeboje w albumie "Greatest Hits: God's Favorite Band". Tytuł składanki pochodzi od wypowiedzi wielkiej gwiazdy amerykańskiej telewizji, Stephena Colberta, który zapowiadając występ Green Day w swoim programie, użył sformułowania "God's favorite band" - Ulubiony zespół Pana Boga. Mając na koncie tyle przebojów, co wspaniałe amerykańskie trio Green Day, wybór kilkunastu największych to na pewno trudne zadanie. Jednak udało się. Album "Greatest Hits: God's Favorite Band" zawiera 20 hitów z ponad 30-letniej historii kapeli, a także dwie nowe piosenki! To druga pozycja z cyklu "The Best Of..." w dorobku Billego Joe Armstronga, Mike'a Dirnta i Tre Coola. Pierwsza, "International Superhits!", ukazała się 16 lat temu. Atrakcyjność "Greatest Hits: God's Favorite Band" polega na tym, że zamieszczono tam megaprzeboje Amerykanów, takie jak "Basket Case", "American Idiot" i "Wake Me Up When September Ends", a także coś nowego.
