Nikolai Lugansky signs to ONYX, and returns to the studio after a gap of several years.Lugansky has recorded 23 CDs. His solo recordings on Warner Classics - Chopin Etudes, Rachmaninov Preludes & Moments musicaux and Chopin Preludes – were each awarded a Diapason d'Or. His PentaTone Classics SACD of Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1, with the Russian National Orchestra under Kent Nagano, was cited as “Editor’s Choice” in Gramophone. Von ihrem Vater Johann Sebastian Bach hatten Wilhelm Friedemann, Carl Philipp Emanuel, Johann Christoph Friedrich und Johann Christian dessen außerordentliche musikalische Begabung geerbt, die durch die väterliche fundierte musikalische Ausbildung noch zusätzlich gefördert wurde. Es ist immer wieder erstaunlich, wie unterschiedlich sich dennoch die musikalischen Charaktere und Ausdrucksweisen der vier Brüder bzw. Halbbrüder entwickelten, ganz abgesehen von den vier grundverschiedenen Lebensläufen und Karrieren. Die vier, von der Kritik mehrfach ausgezeichneten Einspielungen mit Orchesterwerken und Konzerten der Bach-Söhne durch das Freiburger Barockorchester bei CARUS werden hier in einer preiswerten Box zusammengefasst. So ergibt sich ein eindrucksvolles Panorama der Epoche zwischen Barock und Klassik, die dank der herausragenden Musik der Bach-Söhne so gar nichts Unfertiges oder Vorläufiges hat. Dass die Qualitäten ihrer Kompositionen so ohrenfällig werden, liegt nicht zuletzt am Freiburger Barockorchester, das sich wie immer voll und ganz für die Musik einsetzt und uns somit sowohl ungetrübten als auch aufschlussreichen Hörgenuss garantiert.

Jego dorobek artystyczny w którym usłyszymy: dzieła chóralne, kameralne, solowe, teatralne, orkiestrowe, są postrzegane jako czołowe osiągnięcia muzyki szwedzkiej przełomu XIX i XX wieku. Był on jednym z pierwszych członków Royal Academy of Music w Londynie i stał się jego przewodniczącym w 1832 roku i piastował to stanowisko do 1859 roku.
