Pierwsze od ponad 15 lat wydawnictwo koncertowe saksofonisty altowego, Steve'a Colemana. Z klubem The Village Vanguard ściśle związana jest prywatna historia Colemana. Jednym z głównych powodów, dla którego przeniósł się do Chicago w wieku 21 lat z Nowego Jorku, była możliwość grania w Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra. Grał z nią w latach 1978 - 1980. Jednak po występie tam z Abbey Lincoln w 1984 roku nastąpiła przerwa trwająca ponad 30 lat. Wreszcie jednak został zaproszony do występu w Village Vanguard jako lider, z własnym zespołem Five Elements. Na dwóch płytach zapis dwóch radosnych setów w historycznym nowojorskim miejscu, w którym dokonano jednych najważniejszych jazzowych nagrań. „The Tenement Year” to szósty album studyjny amerykańskiego zespołu rockowego Pere Ubu i ich pierwszy album po rozpadzie w 1982 roku. Pere Ubu – amerykański zespół grający muzykę postpunkową, założony w Cleveland, w stanie Ohio w 1975. Zespół przechodził wielokrotne zmiany personalne. Nazwa grupy pochodzi od Père Ubu („Ojciec Ubu”), bohatera sztuki Ubu Roi ("Ubu król"), autorstwa francuskiego dramaturga, powieściopisarza i poety Alfreda Jarry.
