‘Appalachian Journey’ to drugi album tria smyczkowego Edgara Meyera, Marka O'Connor oraz Yo-Yo Ma. James Taylor i Alison Krauss dołączyli do muzyków na dwóch utworach Stephena Fostera. Sony Classical po raz pierwszy wydał płytę w 2000 roku. Album dołączył do szeregu innych nagrań, wydanych po ‘Appalachia Waltz’, które kontynuowały nowy rodzaj muzyki klasycznej zabarwionej dźwiękami amerykańskiej tradycji muzycznej.
