Co się stanie, kiedy umieścisz razem upadłego meksykańskiego zapaśnika, byłego więźnia z godnym pożałowania tatuażem twarzy i się właściciela motelu w poszukiwaniu nerki? Takie jest założenie berserku, pełnego rozrzuconej krwi i jednocześnie zabawnego debiutu fabularnego Ryana Prowsa. Ten zuchwały thriller nieprzerwanie serwuje adrenalinę, okraszoną uderzającym komentarzem na temat stanu współczesnej Ameryki. Kepijn Caudron (alias Kreng) wychował się w Belgii w muzycznej rodzinie. Matka grała na skrzypcach, ojciec na gitarze. Kiedy miał dwanaście lat, poszedł ich śladem - zaczął śpiewać oraz grać na bębnach w kilku lokalnych zespołach, niektóre z nich koncertowały w belgijskich klubach kilka lat później. W wieku piętnastu lat zaczął eksperymentować z czterościeżkowymi nagrywarkami i samplowaniem. Rosnące zainteresowanie muzyką klasyczną XX wieku stopniowo nadawało jego twórczości bardziej teatralny charakter. W 1992 roku Kreng wjechał do Kunsthumaniora Brussels (szkoły artystycznej dla aspirujących aktorów i tancerzy). Od tego czasu do 2004 roku pracował przede wszystkim jako aktor w teatrze, filmie i telewizji. Po występie belgijskiego zespołu teatru grozy Abattoir Fermé, Kreng zwrócił się do dyrektora artystycznego Stefa Lernousa i został zatrudniony do realizacji kolejnego spektaklu. Od 2004 roku Kreng i Abattoir Fermé współpracowali nad ponad trzydziestoma sztukami. Do 2014 roku ma na swoim koncie ponad pięćdziesiąt tytułów wykonawczych do muzyki estradowej. Szczególny świat dźwięków Krenga przyciągnął również uwagę norweskiej wytwórni płytowej Miasmah, która zaproponowała mu wydanie muzyki z jego teatralnych ścieżek dźwiękowych. Zaowocowało to uznanym przez krytyków albumem "L'Autopsie Phénoménale de Dieu" (2009), "Grimoire" (2011) oraz przepięknie zaprojektowaną kompilacją retrospektywną "Works For Abattoir Fermé" (2012). W 2013 roku 7-calowy winyl "...And Then In The Morning" ukazał się nakładem berlińskiej wytwórni Sonic Pieces. "The Summoner" (2015) to jego najbardziej osobisty zapis do tej pory, powstało w oparciu o model Küblera-Rossa z pięciu etapów żałoby. Po ponad dziesięciu latach pracy scenicznej, Kreng powrócił do swojej życiowej pasji do muzyki filmowej i został zaprezentowany międzynarodowej publiczności w 2014 roku przy okazji premiery filmu "Cooties". Jego druga ścieżka dźwiękowa, do filmu fabularnego "Camino" miała premierę we wrześniu 2016 roku na festiwalu Fantastic Fest w Austin, TX, póżniej została wydana nakładem Lakeshore Records. Settings of the canticles, the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis, have played a prominent part in the Office of Evensong since the Reformation. Cranmer’s original Book of Common Prayer of 1549 established the classic pattern for the Anglican Office of psalm–lesson–canticle–lesson–canticle. This pattern survived all the liturgical revisions and upheavals and was reiterated in the definitive 1662 version, which is still adhered to today. The form of Evensong resulted from the fusing together of elements from the Roman Offices of Vespers and Compline, though the liturgical pattern of psalms followed by paired lessons and canticles differs both from its Roman progenitors and from the Lutheran services.The first canticle of Evensong, the Magnificat, acts as a liturgical pivot, providing a transition between lessons from the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Magnificat, whose text is found in Luke 1: 46–55, is a hymn of praise expressing the joy and thanksgiving of the Virgin Mary following the Annunciation.The Nunc dimittis or ‘Song of Simeon’, the second canticle of Evensong, takes its text from Luke 2: 29–32, and acts as a salutation to the arrival of the New Testament message. The words are those uttered in prayer by the aged Simeon who, having witnessed the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, expresses his faith in God’s promise of Salvation and contemplates his approaching death.Except for the anthem (which is, strictly speaking, extra-liturgical), the canticles have afforded the greatest opportunity for musical development within the Anglican rite. The stylistic foundations of the settings most familiar today from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries were established in large part by Samuel Sebastian Wesley and Thomas Attwood Walmisley, two of the most important and influential figures in the history of English church music. The finest achievements of both these men in the setting of the Evening Canticles are included in this recording, which presents six of the most inspired and well-loved settings, spanning from the mid-1850s to the early 1920s.
