Opera „Maria Padilla” Gaetano Donizettiego zarejestrowana na żywo podczas 15. Wielkanocnego Festiwalu Ludwiga van Beethovena. W partii tytułowej wystąpiła sławna sopranistka Nelly Miricioiu. W realizacji dzieła udział wzięli soliści: Helena Zubanovich, Jorge Prego, David Pershall, Andrew Craig Brown, Jennifer Feinstein, Eric Barry i Eric Downs , którym towarzyszyła Polska Orkiestra Radiowa, Chór Polskiego Radia w Krakowie, Chór Opery i Filharmonii Podlaskiej. Całość poprowadził Łukasz Borowicz.Opera została zrealizowana we współpracy z Opera Program Yale School of Music i jego dyrektorem artystycznym, Prof. Doris Yarick Cross.Album  „Maria Padilla” jest kontynuacją tradycji festiwalowej odkrywania nieznanych i rzadko wykonywanych oper oraz uwieczniania ich na płytach CD. „Maria Padilla” Gaetano Donizettiego miała swoją prapremierę w 1841 r. po czym na wiele lat zniknęła ze scen. W Wielkiej Brytanii po raz pierwszy została wystawiona w 1973 r. a w Polsce… właśnie podczas 15. Festiwalu Beethovenowskiego w roku 2011.Album wydany we współpracy z Polskim Radiem Agencją Fonograficzną S.A. ukazał się dzięki wsparciu firmy GAZ-SYSTEM SA, Pierre Cardin i Grupy Ahlers oraz Narodowego Instytutu Audiowizualnego.Trzypłytowy album wydany wraz librettem w językach: włoskim, polskim i angielskim.

Średniowieczna opera w 5 aktach zatytułowana "Rienzi", została skomponowana przez Richarda Wagnera i określona przez kompozytora jako „wielka opera tragiczna”. Libretto napisał według powieści Edwarda Bulwera-Lyttona. Prapremiera opery miała miejsce w Dreznie 20 października 1842 roku, a premiera polska we Lwowie w 1899. Akcja opery rozgrywa się w Rzymie w połowie XIV wieku i nawiązuje do dziejów Coli di Rienzo. Przedstawia walkę mas przeciwko klasie uprzywilejowanej. Po zwycięzce, Rienzi zostaje wybrany na lidera ludu. Jednak wkrótce, będzie musiał stawić czoła Adriano, który planuje zemstę po śmierci ojca.   The piano remained the main instrument of Beethoven throughout his life, and this specially priced 4-CD box set represents his entire and sizeable output for piano and orchestra, starting with the early Piano Concerto in E flat, WoO 4 – a work of tremendous energy and great technical demands, which Beethoven wrote when he was just twelve years old – and ending with Piano Concerto No. 5, the only one that Beethoven never performed himself in concert, due to his developing deafness. Howard Shelley was awarded an OBE for services to classical music at the 2009 New Year Honours. He here conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North from the piano. Shelley has recorded extensively for Chandos over the years, and he has combined the role of solo pianist and conductor on numerous occasions, most recently with the Orchestra of Opera North in Piano Concertos by Schumann, Saint-Saëns, and Grieg (CHAN 10509), but also with the London Mozart Players, recording works by Cramer, Hummel, Mendelssohn, and Mozart. All his recordings have received superb reviews.  Beethoven wrote the Triple Concerto on this disc in 1803 during a lull in the composition of his opera Fidelio. Works for violin, cello and piano were fairly common at the time – but combining them with orchestra was, as Beethoven himself observed, something entirely new, and no other concerto of this kind from this period is known today. In this work, Howard Shelley is joined by the violinist and exclusive Chandos artist Tasmin Little, who won the Critics’ Choice Award at this year’s Classic BRITS, and by the cellist Tim Hugh, of whom The Times said: ‘Mr Hugh is much more than just a Cellist, he is a musician with a compelling insight into the creative urge behind the notes.’

The 2008 Salzburg Festival production of Dvorák's opera Rusalka was outstanding even by the Festival's high artistic standards. Its exceptional nature was due in part to the fact that in the pit the Cleveland Orchestra was appearing for the first time as an opera orchestra in Salzburg. The high expectations raised by the orchestra and its Music Director, Franz Welser-Möst, were fully met, and even in the live recording of the opening night made by Austrian Radio, the conductor's genuinely dramatic approach to the work is never less than gripping.  The fairytale narrative gains in psychological focus and depth, aided and abetted by the team of soloists headed by Camilla Nylund as Rusalka and Piotr Beczala as the Prince. To the role of the water nymph, Nylund brings a beautiful lyric soprano voice that retains its focus and penetrating power even in the score's most dramatic outbursts, while the bright tenor voice of Piotr Beczala produces a convincing vocal portrait of the hapless heroine's inconstant lover, following her decision to enter the world of mortals.  The remaining roles were cast from strength, notably the admonitory figure of the Water Goblin, taken here by Alan Held, whose powerful Wagnerian bass-baritone lends the role an impressive profile; Birgit Remmert, with her dark-hued, impressively full-toned voice and Emily Magee's burnished soprano, with its brilliant upper register.  Particularly gratifying in a Salzburg Festival production is the casting of minor roles with promising young singers including Eva Liebau as the Turnspit, Adam Plachetka as the Gamekeeper and the three well-modulated wood nymphs of Anna Prohaska, Stephanie Atasanov and Hannah Esther Minutillo. Appearing alongside this team of singers is the Vienna State Opera Chorus on outstanding form. All in all, then, it comes as no surprise to know that the response to the musical side of this production was extremely positive, a response which it is hoped will be repeated in the case of the present live recording
