Urodzony w Niemczech kompozytor pochodzenia irańskiego, w 1998 roku uzyskał dyplom Barklee School of Music. 17 stycznia 2009 zespół Elbow zagrał kameralny koncert w słynnym Abbey Road Studios z towarzyszeniem uznanej na całym świecie BBC Concert Orchestra. Zespół zaprezentował album „The Seldom Seen Kid” w wersji orkiestrowej. Krążek zdobył w 2008 roku Mercury Music Prize i w samej Wielkiej Brytanii sprzedał się w nakładzie przekraczającym milion kopii. Zaledwie tydzień po tym występie, Elbow otrzymało nagrodę Brit w kategorii Najlepszy zespół brytyjski, a utwory „One Day Like This” i „Grounds For Divorce” otrzymały Ivor Novello Awards kolejno w kategoriach Najlepsza piosenka współczesna oraz Najlepsza melodia i tekst. Zarejestrowany w Abbey Road koncert, po dodaniu do serwisu VOD BBC oraz iPlayera, zgromadził imponującą liczbę obejrzeń przekraczającą milion. Dotychczas zapis koncertu Elbow ze stycznia 2009 był dostępny jedynie jako część wyprzedanego boksu, który ukazał się w 2012 roku. Aby uczcić 10. rocznicę wydarzenia, formacja zdecydowała się na osobne wydanie nagrania. „The Seldom Seen Kid Live at Abbey Road” zostało cyfrowo zremasterowane i nagrane na płyty winylowe w technologii half speed, co zapewnia możliwie najlepszą jakość dźwięku.
