Duet Basement Jaxx, czyli Felix Buxton i Simon Ratcliffe, to już nie tylko jedni z najpopularniejszych i najwybitniejszych przedstawicieli sceny klubowej. To jedna z najbardziej ekscytujących, wybuchowych i błyskotliwych grup popowej superligi, do której Brytyjczycy niewątpliwie już przynależą. Mogliśmy się o tym przekonać podczas ich fenomenalnego występu na tegorocznej edycji festiwalu Heineken Open'Er w Gdyni. W Gdyni Basement Jaxx kompletnie zdeklasowali pozostałych wykonawców, w tym Placebo, Pharrella Williamsa czy Kanye'ego Westa. Supergwiazdorski status Brytyjczyków potwierdza wspólna trasa koncertowa z Robbie'em Williamsem. Potwierdza go również ich nowy, rewelacyjny, czwarty studyjny album zatytułowany „Crazy Itch Radio". Ta płyta to odważny krok pod prąd brzmieniowym modom. Zupełna odwrotność coraz bardziej syntetycznych, odartych z melodii i minimalistycznych produkcji tanecznych. „Crazy Itch Radio" ma formę radiowego programu, kipiącego pozytywną, przebojową energią, naładowanego chwytliwymi melodiami, rozbuchanymi orkiestrowymi aranżacjami i mieniącego się tak różnymi stylami jak soul, house, funk, disco, grime, muzyka żydowskich klezmerów, a nawet bałkański folk.
