2-godzinna kosmiczna podróż muzyczna! Boston Pops Orchestra pod dyrekcją Johna Williamsa! W 2005 roku American Film Institute przyznał muzyce do filmu Gwiezdne Wojny tytuł najsłynniejszej muzyki w historii amerykańskiego kina. W 2004 roku dzieło to zostało wpisane przez Bibliotekę Kongresu do National Recording Registry (Narodowego Rejestru Nagraniowego) jako znacząca zarówno pod względem kulturowym, historycznym jak i estetycznym. Zrealizowana przez Johna Williamsa z zespołem Boston Pops w okresie pomiędzy 1980 a 1983 pierwsza płyta CD zawiera efektowny wybór muzyki z oryginalnej trylogii Wojen Gwiezdnych, oraz fragmenty z muzyki do filmu E.T. i suitę ze ścieżki dźwiękowej do filmu Bliskie spotkania trzeciego stopnia.
