Piąty studyjny klejnot w dorobku legendy niemieckiego thrash metalu, pochodzącej z Frankfurtu nad Menem, powstałej w 1982 roku i działającej do dziś grupy Tankard. "Stone Cold Sober" z 1992 roku to kolejna z serii klasycznych płyt formacji Gerrego i Franka Thorwartha. Zaliczanej do wielkiej czwórki niemieckiego thrash metalu (obok Kreator, Destruction i Sodom). Tankard cieszy się wielkim szacunkiem nie tylko za to, że mają pokręcone poczucie humoru, uwielbiają piwo ponad wszystko na świecie, lecz także za to, iż zawsze kroczą swoją ścieżką, nie oglądając się na mody i trendy. Kiedy wiele zespołów na początku lat 90. zmieniało styl, eksperymentowało z brzmieniami, oni wiernie stali na straży klasycznego thrash metalu. Stąd i nieco ironiczny tytuł "Stone Cold Sober", nawiązujący do klasyka grupy Queen. Tym razem treści w tekstach Gerrego są nieco poważniejsze, a muzyka ostra, jak brzytwa.
