"Chopin University Chamber Orchestra – Debiut!" to fonograficzna rejestracja pierwszego koncertu formacji powołanej do życia przez JM Rektora prof. Klaudiusza Barana na warszawskim Uniwersytecie Muzycznym Fryderyka Chopina. Koncert obył się 10 maja 2017 r. w Sali Koncertowej UMFC. Prowadzony przez Rafała Janiaka zespół, złożony z najwybitniejszych studentów uczelni, wykonał dzieła należące do kanonu XX-wiecznej muzyki na smyczki. Trzy z czterech zaprezentowanych wówczas utworów znalazły się na płycie: Sinfonietta per archi Krzysztofa Pendereckiego, Les Illuminations op. 18 Benjamina Brittena (z udziałem sopranistki Anny Farysej) oraz Symfonia kameralna c-moll op. 110a Dmitrija Szostakowicza. Repertuar ten pozwala na wyeksponowanie szerokiej palety możliwości technicznych, ekspresyjnych i kolorystycznych orkiestry. "Zaprezentowane na płycie wykonania, pełne energii i zaangażowania, pomimo młodego wieku wykonawców są już nacechowane najwyższym profesjonalnym poziomem, obecnym zarówno w grze zespołowej, jak i w partiach solistycznych, w tym w trzech wielkich kadencjach w Sinfonietcie Pendereckiego wykonanych tu przez altowiolistkę Agnieszkę Podłucką, wiolonczelistę Adama Mazurka i koncertmistrzynię orkiestry Roksanę Kwaśnikowską" (Magdalena Pasternak). Atutem debiutanckiego albumu Chopin University Chamber Orchestra jest fakt, iż jest to nagranie "na żywo"; dodatkową wartość stanowi dołączenie polskiego przekładu tekstu Iluminacji Brittena dokonanego przez Krystynę Jaźwińską-Dobosz. Album ukazał się 21 grudnia 2017 r.

Lata 90. Running Wild, legendarni niemieccy pionierzy power metalu i piewcy piractwa, niezmiennie pod komendą Rolfa Kasparka, rozpoczęli dwoma znakomitymi albumami. Drugi z nich, "Pile Of Skulls" z 1992 roku, ukazuje się ponownie. Zespół powrócił tu do tak lubianych przez fanów klimatów pirackich, do tego w wielkim stylu. Aczkolwiek w tekstach znalazło się miejsce na opisy tyranii, korupcji i nadużycia władzy na przestrzeni dziejów. Jest tu, chociażby utwór oparty na "Wyspie skarbów" Roberta Louisa Stevensona. Armin Jordan (1932-2006) W 2016 roku przypada 10 rocznica śmierci Armina Jordana. Dyrygent skupiał się na działalności w rodzinnej Szwajcarii i we Francji. W późniejszych latach zyskał także sławę w USA ale zły stan zdrowia utrudniał mu karierę. Utrzymał stanowisko dyrygenckie na scenach operowych w Zurychu, St Gallen i Bazylei, prowadził Lausanne Chamber Orchestra (1973-1985) oraz Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (1985-1997). Sławę przyniósł mu także film z 1981 r., gdzie występował razem z Hansem-Jürgenem Syberbergem w filmie „Parsifal”. Nie tylko dyrygował ścieżką dźwiękową (nagraną dla Erato), pojawił się także na ekranie w roli Amfortasa (choć rola ta była śpiewana przez bas-barytona Wolfganga Schöne). Jego syn, Philippe Jordan – dyrygent, dyrektor muzyczny Opera National de Paris, a także artysta Warner Classics – napisał notkę na temat swego ojca, którą znajdziemy w booklecie dołączonym do tej kolekcji. Kolekcja w całości składa się z muzyki kompozytorów szkoły francuskiej, zarówno znanych jak i mniej popularnych (Debussy, Ravel, Franck, Faure, Chabrier, Dukas, Chausson, Lekeu, Rabaud, Delage, Jaubert). Tchaikovsky’s virtuoso string sextet ‘Souvenir de Florence’ is one of the most popular works in the string chamber music repertoire. It has been recorded here with Arensky’s Quartet Op 35 which was dedicated to the memory of Tchaikovsky.
