Pierwsza odsłona serii „Pure Trance” ukazała się w 2012 roku, a odpowiadali za nią Solarstone oraz Orkidea. Pierwszy z nich jest pomysłodawcą projektu, założycielem labela i prowadzącym audycję radiową z tym samym logo. Brytyjski DJ i producent Richard Mowatt jest też jednym z prekursorów i najważniejszych postaci, mających wpływ na rozwój oraz promocję tej odmiany klubowego grania. Jak wskazuje nazwa, w Pure Trance chodzi o popularyzowanie klasycznych, trance’owych brzmień, pozbawionych mieszanek z innymi gatunkami muzycznymi. Do tej pory światło dzienne ujrzało siedem części tych kultowych już kompilacji, w których gościnnie udział wzięli m.in. tacy artyści jak Giuseppe Ottaviani, Bryan Kearney, Gai Barone, Sneijder czy Factor B. Do przygotowania wydawnictwa „Pure Trance, Vol. 8”, tym razem zaproszony został Robert James Stevenson, znany szerszej publiczności jako Activa. Na dwóch płytach usłyszymy łącznie 34 utwory, z których większość nagrana została specjalnie na potrzeby tego albumu. Wydanie deluxe ukaże się w formie boksu zawierającego 3CD i 2DVD. W wydawnictwie nie zabraknie oryginalnego albumu w nowym masterze, niewydanych wcześniej utworów, w tym „Legend of a Mind” w wersji mono.
