Eighteenth-century Flemish harpsichord music today is mostly identified with the Pièces de clavecin of 1731 by Joseph-Hector Fiocco (1703-1741). Although this collection, consisting of two major harpsichord suites, undoubtedly forms the high point in the genre, I want this CD to show that Fiocco was certainly not the only good Flemish harpsichord composer. (For those interested in Fiocco's harpsichord works, I refer to my complete recording of his Pièces de clavecin (ACCENT 24176, 2007)). The repertoire of this CD is the result of an artistic research project I carried out into eighteenth-century Flemish harpsichord music, based on the rich collection of the Antwerp Conservatory library. Demeyere shows us that there is more to Flemisch harpsichord music than only Fiocco's music and this cd is a unique statement for that and takes us into the wealth of other compostions of the eighteenth century.

Strauss’s ‘Fantastic variations on a theme of knightly character’, as Don Quixote is subtitled, is one of the composer’s most popular tone poems, principally because of the beautifully drawn central characters of the Don (performed by a solo cellist) and Sancho Panza (viola). These roles are luxuriously cast in this new recording, being taken by Hyperion artists Alban Gerhardt and Lawrence Power. The merry tale of Till Eulenspiegel completes this release.The Gürzenich-Orchester Köln, the very orchestra which gave the premieres of both works in the 1890s, is conducted by Markus Stenz, who has held the position of Principal Conductor since 2003. He visited China with the orchestra in early 2008 and conducted their first ever BBC Prom at the Royal Albert Hall in August 2008. In September 2010 he returned to China with the Gürzenich Orchestra and the Opera of Cologne to conduct the first ever production of Wagner’s ‘Ring’ in Shanghai. Among other posts he is Chief Guest Conductor of the Hallé.

Sinusoidal w pierwszej odsłonie był tworem Michała Siwaka i Magdaleny Pasierskiej (obecnie Me Myself and I), głównie hiphopowe bity przeplatały się ze scatowymi partiami wokalnymi Magdy. Po kilkuletniej kooperacji skład rozpadł się na rzecz ich solowych działalności. Michał zaczął współpracę z Natalią Lubrano (Miloopa, Nat Queen Cool) i Jankiem Michalcem (trębacz z Lublina), a następnie z Adrianną Styrcz w projekcie ‘Siwak’; w końcowej fazie to spotkanie doprowadziło do reaktywowania i kontynuacji Sinusoidala. Tym razem aranże ewoluowały w ramach inspiracji duetu nu i funk-jazzem, trip-hopem, ambientem, downtempo i synth-popem. Obecnie Sinusoidal to spokojny ocean dźwięku dopełniony falą lirycznych wokali.Michał Siwak – producent, dj. Założyciel projektu muzycznego Sinusoidal. Związany z wrocławską sceną elektroniczną. Jako dj występował na festiwalach, eventach w kraju i zagranicą (Electronica Festival Istanbul, Era Nowe Horyzonty, Nemiroff Global, Hennessy Artistry). Autor remiksów. Kolaborował z takimi artystami jak Antony and the Johnsons, Julia Kent, Muna Zul, The Crystal Method, Fiszemade, Pustki, Novika. Kompozytor muzyki teatralnej. Ma na koncie inscenizacje w Starym Teatrze w Krakowie, Teatrze Wybrzeże w Gdańsku (współpraca z grupą Kormorany) czy w Warszawie i Białymstoku (spektakl taneczny Fizjotopia). Zwycięzca PPA w nurcie OFF w 2009 roku (Vertinsky Project, obecnie Lila Negr). Zawodowo freelancer, producent muzyki komercyjnej do reklam i prezentacji multimedialnych.Adrianna Styrcz – wokalistka. Przygodę muzyczną zaczęła od prywatnych lekcji fortepianu w wieku lat trzech, następnie po ukończeniu państwowej podstawowej szkoły muzycznej w klasie fletu poprzecznego, zajęła się edukacją wokalną (m.in. u Ewy Kossak, Grażyny Łobaszewskiej, Janusza Józefowicza oraz Janusza Stokłosy). W marcu 2011 upłynęło osiem lat od jej pierwszego solowego występu na Dolnośląskim Festiwalu Piosenki Obcojęzycznej, gdzie została wyróżniona nagrodą Grand Prix; sukcesywnie zajmowała pierwsze miejsca w młodzieżowych konkursach piosenek (w kat.: piosenka kabaretowa, poetycka i anglojęzyczna), zdobyła też nagrodę Grand Prix podczas Przeglądu Piosenek Agnieszki Osieckiej „Bardzo wielka woda”; była półfinalistką popularnego programu rozrywkowego ‘X-factor’. Współpracowała do tej pory z Koleg! Band, Beneficjentami Splendoru, Dj Sickiem, Kulturą Upadłą, Fat Burning Step i HooDoo-Band.
